GAINESVILLE — A man accused of opening fire with a deer rifle at the Georgia State Patrol post in Gainesville Monday morning has his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
Hall County authorities said 21-year-old Leighton Beaux Marchetta of Gainesville will have a closed-circuit session with the judge and will not be transported to the courthouse.
Marchetta was shot in the shoulder by a state trooper during the incident. He was treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and then taken to the Hall County Jail.
