Sugar Hill man sentenced to federal prison for child porn possession

ATLANTA — A Gwinnett County man convicted of downloading thousands of images of child pornography - many of them involving the sexual abuse of infants and toddlers - was sentenced Friday to a federal prison term of more than eight years.

Samuel London, 30, pleaded guilty to child porn charges on April 2, 2015, according to a press statement from Acting U.S. Attorney John Horn.

“It is beyond belief that anyone could enjoy watching the sexual abuse of infants and toddlers,” said Horn. “This defendant’s conduct fueled the production and trade of this disgusting material.

According to Horn, the case began to unfold in August 2013 when law enforcement officers in Maryland seized a website that was used by individuals to advertise and distribute child pornography and to discuss the sexual abuse of children. That investigation led to a target in Michigan, who admitted to FBI agents that he had sexually abused his three-year-old daughter while using Skype so that a couple in Georgia could watch the abuse.

That admission led FBI agents to Samuel London and Heather Dalton, who lived together in Sugar Hill.  Agents executed a search warrant at their home on January 24, 2014 and found thousands of files containing child pornography on a computer belonging to London, with many of the images depicting the sexual abuse of infants and toddlers.

London was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison to be followed by ten years of supervised release.

Dalton is being prosecuted by the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office on charges of child molestation, according to Horn.
