Police call midday sexual assault in Lawrenceville 'brazen' attack

By Associated Press

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) Police are calling a midday sexual assault in Gwinnett County a "brazen'' attack.

Corporal Deon Washington says a woman reported that a man she did not know bound and sexually assaulted her outside her Lawrenceville home on Saturday.

Once the man left, the woman freed herself and ran for help.

Washington says in a statement that the time of day makes the crime "very unusual.''

At the time of the attack, the man, described as Hispanic in his mid 30s to early 40s, was wearing a yellow and white-striped polo shirt with short sleeves, jeans, black glasses and a red ball cap.
