Summer in the Country arrives at new venue Friday

SAUTEE-NACOOCHEE - The Summer in the Country Music Festival, a family-friendly event showcasing local musical talent, will be held Friday and Saturday, July 17-18, in Sautée.
 
Sponsored by Hardy Chevrolet, the annual event will showcase more than a dozen musical acts over two days.
 
The new venue this year is at 2570 Highway 17, Sautee, and will offer optional camping.
 
The schedule of events for this year is as follows:
Friday, July 17th
2 p,m, - Gates open
6-6:40 p.m. - Dalton Gang
7-7:30 p.m. - Eli Carlan
7:50-8:20 p.m, - Cory Cleveland
8:30-9 p.m. - Gina Gailey
9:10-10 p.m. - Chase Thomas
10:15-11:15 p.m. - Coal Mountain Band
 
Saturday, July 18th
noon - Gates open
4 p.m. - 14 Roots
5 p.m. - Under The Wheel
6 p.m, - Deep Roots Revival
7 p.m. - Bourbon Borderline
8 p.m. - Dan Johnson and The Saltcreek Rebels
9 p.m,. - Jonathan Ingram Band
10 p.m. - Twisted Whiskey/Joe Olds
 
There will be a special guest appearance on Friday by Moonshiner Chico and Joey Thurmond “Tellin’ Tales Comedy Tour", sponsored by Aaron Autry for Sheriff of White County.
 
Two-day advance tickets are available to purchase for $20 from bands performing at this year's festival. Children ages 15 and under will be admitted free. 
 
Tickets also will be available for purchase at the gate during the festival.
 
Camping tickets are $30 and include both Friday and Saturday admission to the festival, plus camping. There are no electrical or water hookups, but generators are welcome. 
 
There will be a central fire pit in the campground area, but no individual fires will be allowed.
 
A variety of food and beverage vendors will be available during both days of the event. Some of the vendors that will be at this years festival are David Kinkaid’s Peanuts & Watermelons, Tim & Wendi’s Blazing Butts, Wolf Creek BBQ, J Rock Ranch, and Meat in the Middle.
