By Associated Press

FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. (AP) The funeral is set for a Naval officer who was fatally shot during attacks on military facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency says the funeral for Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Scott Smith is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe about eight miles south of Chattanooga.

Officials say a processional for Smith will travel north after the funeral along I-75 and he'll be buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

GEMA officials say the public is asked to line the procession route and seating inside the church during the funeral is reserved for family, friends, military personnel and dignitaries. GEMA officials say those planning to line the processional route should prepare for hot weather and bring water.
