Jefferson City Manager resigns

By Bryan Pirkle Reporter

JEFFERSON – The Jefferson City Council will soon begin the search for a new City Manager following the resignation of the current position-holder earlier this week.

W. Jason Tinsley, who has served as Jefferson’s City Manager since February of this year, submitted his written resignation to the council at their weekly meeting last Monday.

While no specific reason was given for the resignation, Tinsley’s letter, addressed to the council and Jefferson Mayor Roy Plott, cited “personal life changes” and the need to “pursue other career opportunities that can provide…flexibility…through this period of personal transition” as motivating factors in his decision.

Tinsley, a graduate of East Tennessee State University, previously held positions in Wayne and Habersham counties before accepting the position with the city of Jefferson.
