HOMER — A fiery crash on I-85 in Banks County killed one man and injured another during the Tuesday morning rush hour.
The Georgia State Patrol said the crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. and only one vehicle was involved - a Ford F-150.
The driver, identified as 70-year-old Daniel Brand of Fairburn, left the roadway as he traveled northbound near Martin's Bridge Road, crossed through a ditch and then hit a tree. Troopers said the truck caught fire on impact.
A 47-year-old passenger, Tony Moncus of Smyrna, was able to escape the wreckage with non-life threatening injuries.
