ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Athens-Clarke County police are searching for a man who authorities say attacked a University of Georgia student on the North Oconee River Greenway trail.
Multiple media outlets report that a 19-year-old female student says she was grabbed, put into a chokehold and punched by a man on Sunday afternoon while she was jogging. The man ran away after the unidentified woman says she screamed.
WXIA-TV reports that the woman has told investigators that the assailant is Hispanic, possibly in his 40s and has a stocky build. Authorities have released a sketch of the man, who they also say has a distinctive tattoo of red lips on the right side of his neck.
A $1,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
