By Bryan Pirkle Reporter

A multi-agency investigation that began over two months ago resulted in the arrest of a Cleveland man Tuesday on various drug-related charges.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), working in conjunction with the White County Sheriff's Office and Georgia Department of Community Supervision, made the arrest after executing a search warrant at a residence on Tulip Trail near Westmoreland Road.

"Agents confiscated from the residence approximately 24 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3 grams of suspected marijuana and a revolver," said ARDEO Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey.

Posey added that the confiscated methamphetamine had already been packaged for distribution at the time of the search.

Officers arrested Jeread David Grizzle, 29, at the scene following the search.

Posey said Grizzle faces the following charges in the case:

  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
  • Possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The confiscated drugs were said to have a total street value of roughly $2,600.00. The investigation that spurred the arrest is ongoing.
