Hall County Fire Services and the Georgia Forestry Commission remain on the scene of a 5-acre brush fire that broke out near U.S 129 in North Hall Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the scene off of Casper Driver within the Baker and Glover Mobile Home Park around 3:30 p.m.
"The initial arriving units reported a large brush fire that was rapidly moving toward numerous mobile homes," said Hall County Fire Capt. Zach Brackett.
"Being very proactive," Brackett continued, "they went ahead and called for assistance from law enforcement for potential evacuations."
He added that the Georgia Forestry Commission was also notified of the fire at this time.
"Georgia Forestry arrived on scene and cut a [fire]break around the perimeter, and all the visible fire was extinguished."
Brackett said that due to the quick efforts of all involved, no structures were damaged by the fire and officials determined there was no need for any evacuations.
Firefighters were expected to remain on scene during the overnight hours in order to ensure the remnants of the fire did not spread further.
"Obviously it wasn't completely extinguished," Brackett explained. "So there will be some smoldering of small limbs and small trees that are within the firebreak area."
He noted that residents in the area should expect the smell of smoke in the air during the overnight hours, as well.
Fire investigators were also called to the scene to determine the origin of the fire.
