Northeast Georgia Health System to open Urgent Care in Dahlonega

By AccessWDUN staff

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) will open its newest Urgent Care location on Monday, December 19 in Dahlonega.

A press statement from NGHS said the new facility is located in the Chestatee Village Shops, II, in front of Home Depot on Longbranch Road, at the corner of GA Hwy. 400 and U.S. 60. It will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Urgent Care Dahlonega’s board-certified physicians and advanced practitioners will treat illnesses or injuries that need immediate attention but are not life-threatening. No appointment is necessary at NGHS’ Urgent Care centers, and most major insurance plans are accepted.  Urgent Care Dahlonega will accept patients 6 months and older and provide access to a referral network of more than 500 physicians if specialty care is needed.

“We are excited to expand our healthcare services in Lumpkin County, adding urgent care to our already existing primary care, internal medicine and physical therapy services,” says Antonio Rios, MD, medical director and chief administrative officer of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group. “With seven-day-a-week and extended hours, Urgent Care will provide even greater access to NGHS’ services in this community.”

The Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce holds a ribbon cutting event at the new Urgent Care on Dec. 20, at 11:00 a.m.

Urgent Care plans a grand opening celebration event on Jan. 14, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which will include free health screenings, carnival rides, food and games.

Urgent Care is part of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, an affiliate of Northeast Georgia Health System, with six locations throughout Northeast Georgia.
