Truett McConnell University to offer MBA in fall 2017

Truett McConnell University (TMU) in Cleveland has announced a new Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program, which will be offered to students beginning with the 2017 fall semester.

A press release from the campus said the program was approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). 

The MBA becomes the second master's degree offered by the university. 

“The MBA, with its core two classes of the Doctrine of Revelation and Introduction to Missions, expands our dream in training a generation that trusts God's Word completely and shares Christ faithfully. The MBA will grant our graduates the ability to excel in the marketplace while being salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16)," said TMU President Dr. Emir Caner.

The new MBA will consist of 36 credit hours for individuals interested in continuing their education in the business field, according to the press statement.

Dr. Brad Reynolds, TMU’s Vice President for Academic Services said in the prepared statement, "The MBA opens the doors for TMU to offer its distinctive 'from the very first verse to the very last tribe' educational pillars to the business professional. Unlike most MBAs, TMU has two courses which are foundational to who we are, focusing on the authority of Scripture and the mission field.”

Additional courses include: business research methods, managerial finance and environment of human resource management, all taught through a Christian worldview.

Students entering with other than a business degree may be required to complete basic management or marketing courses before taking these topics at the graduate level.

“I am excited that the University can now provide students with an opportunity to continue their professional training in a known Christian environment," said Dr. Janet Forney, Dean and Professor for The Hans Hut School of Business. “The program will also greatly enhance the professional image of the Hans Hut School of Business.”
