The Piedmont College Walker School of Business will hold two free workshops April 4 and April 11 for area businesses on topics of strategic management and business valuation.

On Monday, April 4, Ed Taylor, associate dean and professor of management, will conduct a workshop titled “Strategic Planning and Management” that will examine ways business can develop and maintain a competitive advantage. Taylor will discuss ways businesses set priorities, focus resources, and connect with customers. Dr. Taylor’s primary teaching responsibility is in strategic management in both the undergraduate and MBA programs. He has corporate experience in management information systems, technology management, supply chain, and operations management.
On Monday, April 11, John Misner, dean of the Walker School and professor of finance, will conduct a workshop on “Business Valuation.” The workshop will look at the different valuation formulas businesses can use, including asset based, historical earnings, future earnings, and cash flow. A former investment and commercial banker, Dr. Misner is a frequent speaker in areas of asset pricing, market volatility, economic development, and strategic planning.
