The Hall County Sheriff's Office has charged a Gainesville man with malice murder after a woman was found dead at a home on Dean Street in Gainesville Friday night.
According to a release from the sheriff's office, authorities were called to the scene of a domestic assault at around 8:30 p.m. and found 42-year-old Mary Ward dead inside. Officers then arrested 53-year-old Donnie Jackson Irvin, Ward's live-in boyfriend who was still on the scene when authorities arrived.
Irvin was taken to the Hall County Jail and has been charged with malice murder, but according to the release the investigation is ongoing and further charges could be pending. Ward's body was transported to the Dekalb County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
