Gainesville police are investigating an apparent shooting that occurred Wednesday evening at the Atlanta Street apartments just outside the city center.
Authorities said witnesses have thus far been uncooperative, and they are asking anybody with information to contact Gainesville Police.
A male victim, whose name has not been released, suffered a single gunshot wound in the incident, which happened outside in the complex around 8:30 p.m.
Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the victim was transported from the scene to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with what he described as "a non-life-threatening injury."
Initial reports indicated this may have been a drive-by shooting, but Holbrook said in a phone interview that police have not been able to confirm that as of Thursday morning.
