City of Cornelia launches Farmers Market, vendor orientation this week

By AccessWDUN Staff

Farmers markets are popping up in more and more locations around North Georgia, and the city of Cornelia is one of the latest to launch a market for its citizens.

The market actually gets up and running on June 10, but the city has been busy recruiting farmers and vendors to sell their wares at the Historic Depot at 102 Grant Place in downtown Cornelia. A mandatory orientation meeting for all approved regional area farmers/vendors is set for this Thursday, May 26 at 6 p.m. at the Depot. All participants will get a review of the rules and regulations, product pricing, booth specs and vendor fees for the market.

In addition to offering homegrown produce, plants, flowers, eggs, pottery, bread and homemade jams and jellies, the Cornelia Farmers Market will also feature live entertainment and a cafe with food from local restaurants.

Market hours will be 4-8 p.m. each Friday from June 10 through November 18.
