Wind damage prompts emergency response in Hall County

By Bryan Pirkle Reporter

Hall County Fire Services responded to multiple calls Saturday evening as a result of storm-related damage in the Gillsville area.

Fire Capt. Zach Brackett said the calls, which were prompted by separate instances of wind damage, came in around 4:45 p.m.

One incident, which Brackett said was off Coker Road near Holly Springs Road, "involved a tree across a mobile home with the occupants trapped inside."

Brackett said crews wroked to extricate the occupants from the home, and that no injuries were reported in the incident.

The second call, which Brackett said originated from the same area, involved "approximately 6-7 cars" that were briefly trapped by a fallen tree. He said the tree was removed from the roadway, and that the incident concluded without any injuries.

No other storm-related calls were processed in the area.
