Several members of the Colonel William Candler Chapter NSDAR attended the 2016 American Heritage Forum in Washington, DC on June 14 at the
Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Two members of the chapter also took home awards, and were in attendance to accept them personally. This includes Lynda Holmes, who was named the National Winner in the Poetry category for her piece "Freedom Rings from A-Z," as well as Helen Martin, who was the National Winner in the Cloth Doll category.
The Daughters of the American Revolution fosters patriotism through education and historical preservation.
