The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors wrapped up the fiscal year at a meeting Thursday at the Gainesville Civic Center.
The meeting included not only recognition for winners of Director's Awards and Silver Shovel Awards, but also a "changing of the guard" for Board leadership.
Brian Daniel of Carroll Daniel Construction, the 2015-16 Chairman, received an unusual send-off when he was presented with a pig named Carroll as a thank you for his year of service. The gift came from 2016-17 Chairman Lee Hemmer of The Simpson Company, who just happens to be a pig farmer.
