By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio

CLEVELAND — A 17-year-old male has been arrested in White County and charged with murder.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. Friday in the Eagles Landing Subdivision, according to a release from the White County Sheriff's Office.

Savon A. Williams, 21, of Cleveland, was found dead as a result of a gunshot wound, in the basement of a residence on Eagle Ridge Trail, Cleveland.

The call initially was reported to 9-1-1 dispatch as an apparent suicide, Chief Deputy Bob Ingram said in a phone interview, noting as they investigated the incident it was determined suspicious in nature.

That’s when White County investigators called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for assistance.

According to Ingram, there were four people in the basement at the time the incident occurred. Late Friday night authorities arrested 17-year-old  Christopher T. Courville of Cadillac, Mich.

Courville has been charged with murder and concealing a crime, Ingram said.

The investigation by the GBI and White County Sheriff’s Office continues.
