CLEVELAND — A suspected gang member was arrested on drug charges after a search at a Cleveland apartment late last week.

Cleveland Police Department along with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office on Friday conducted a search of apartment D-16 at 105 Bryant St., Cleveland Police Chief John Foster stated in a press release.

The subject of the search was Andrea Chandler, Foster said. Billy Grant Burton shares the apartment and resides with Chandler, according to Foster.

At that location, officials found containers identified as belonging to Billy Burton. Inside those containers police found a quantity of methamphetamine, scales, baggies, and a list of money owed by individuals, Foster said. Additionally, items were found that indicate this activity is connected to an organized gang known as Ghost Face.

Officers also  found papers, a cloth flag, graffiti, and weapons which Foster said were confirmed as being affiliated with the Gangster Disciples.

Foster said the apartment is described as a trap house for the sale and use of illegal drugs. Also, a search of apartment D-15  was made, which resulted in the discovery of additional gang and drug activity items.

Billy Grant Burton, 33, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute,  and two separate counts of participation in criminal gang activity, Foster said.

The case remains open and Foster said, "I will pursue these gang members as long as they are within my jurisdiction."
