The White County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are probing the death of a 66-year-old White County man.
White County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Bob Ingram said they were notified of the death by 9-1-1 dispatch around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
"The body of Wayne Alexander, 66-year-old male, was discovered deceased at his residence - 30 Craven Road," Ingram said.
Ingram said the death is being investigated as a homicide.
The body was taken to the State Crime Laboratory in Atlanta for an autopsy.
According to Ingram, Alexander’s body was discovered by his ex-wife, who had been checking with him each day because of physical problems he had.
Ingram said they don’t want to release further information at this time, pending the release of autopsy results.
