Inc. magazine has ranked Gainesville-based Dress Up number 1,931 on its 35th annual Inc. 5000, a ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
According a news release from the magazine, the list represents a look at the most successful companies among the country's small businesses. Companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees of the Inc. 5000.
“We were tired of typical retail stores both from a consumer standpoint and an employee standpoint, so we created Dress Up,” said Co-Founders Derrick and Danielle Case. “To be in the top 2000 of the fastest growing companies in the nation is very exciting and honorable.”
The 2016 Inc. 5000, unveiled online at Inc.com and with the top 500 companies featured in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands August 23). "The Inc. 5000 list stands out where it really counts,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “It honors real achievement by a founder or a team of them. No one makes the Inc. 5000 without building something great – usually from scratch. That’s one of the hardest things to do in business, as every company founder knows. But without it, free enterprise fails.”
Dress Up has shown a three-year sales growth of 192%. At the start of 2013, the brand had five storefronts. The company has since added a website, ShopDressUp.com, and 12 stores across the southeast.
“We have seen exponential growth, and know this is only the beginning,” said Case. “We would like to thank our loyal customers for supporting us over the past seven years; and for our employees who represent our brand every day on the front lines. We are humbled to be surrounded by so many incredible people. We have seen exponential growth, and know this is only the beginning.”
