Attendance at the 2017 Habersham E-9-1-1 Children's Fun Festival topped previous years, officials said.
The free event, held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Habersham County Fairgrounds near Clarkesville, drew some 7,000 people to view safety exhibits, public safety vehicles and aircraft, booths from area organizations, and to participate in children's activities.
Organized by dispatchers, the event is a way for dispatchers to give back to the community, while allowing the public to get a look at the agencies and resources available in Habersham County.
