Oakwood: Legacy Link launches Assistive Technology Lab

By AccessWDUN staff

Legacy Link, the Area Agency on Aging for the Georgia Mountains region,  recently unveiled an Assistive Technology Lab which is open for tours and assistance.

There are more than 75 items on display that are used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of life, including school, at work, at home and in the community.

Assistive technology ranges from low tech (walkers and bath benches) to high tech (using your smart phone to turn on and off your lights).

The AT Lab is open to the public by appointment only. Call Ginger Ragans at 770-538-2641 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

The lab is located in Legacy Link headquarters on Mundy Mill Road in Oakwood.
