Ford Motor Company will present a new Ford Transit Van to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County Tuesday in a ceremony at the Positive Place Club in Gainesville.
The clubs applied for the van because the organization had a specific need to acquire safe and reliable transportation for its members, according to a press release.
“Safe and reliable transportation is vital to many of our programs,” said Steven Mickens, BGCHC CEO. “We transport kids so they can experience activities like college tours, kayaking, ballet, job shadowing, swimming, and many others. We are thankful the Ford Motor Company is ensuring our members are able to participate in these activities by providing reliable transportation.”
Two of the vans owned by the club have become worn and frequently require maintenance, according to the release, and have broken down while transporting club members. A lack of air conditioning in the aged vans is also a problem.
