The University of Georgia Alumni Association has unveiled its 40 Under 40 Class of 2017 - and it includes a Gainesville woman, a former resident of the city and a Sugar Hill man.

The program began in 2011 and celebrates the personal, professional and philanthropic achievements of UGA graduates who are under the age of 40, according to a news release from the association.

The honorees this year include Katie Dubnik of Gainesville, president of Forum Communications, and Matt Kopernick of Sugar Hill, the band director at Riverwatch Middle School in Forsyth County.  In addition, Matt Forshee is on the list.  He is a former resident of Gainesville and a Johnson High graduate who now lives in Evans, Georgia.

This year's class will be recognized during the seventh annual 40 Under 40 Awards Luncheon on Sept. 14 at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead.
