Two members of the Georgia General Assembly from Gwinnett County and one from Habersham County have been named floor leaders for Gov. Nathan Deal - and Hall County's Butch Miller has been formally elected to the number two position in the state Senate.
Deal announced Friday that Reps. Chuck Efstration (R-Dacula, Gwinnett), Trey Rhodes (R-Greensboro) and Terry Rogers (R-Clarkesville, Habersham) will continue to serve on the House floor leader team, while Senator-elect Brian Strickland will join Senators P. K. Martin IV (R-Lawrenceville, Gwinnett) and Larry Walker III (R-Kathleen) to carry the governor's bills in the Senate.
Meanwhile, as the 2018 session of the legislature convened last week, Sen. Butch Miller of Gainesville was officially installed as Senate President Pro-Tem, the second-highest ranking office in the chamber. His selection for that post had been announced last month.
