The 12th-annual Habersham E-9-1-1 Children's Fun Fest drew the largest crowd yet.
Held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Habersham County Fairgrounds near Clarkesville, the event drew more than 8,000 people.
"We are amazed from year to year at the crowd and how much it grows," Habersham County E-9-1-1/Emergency Management Agency Director Lynn Smith told AccessWDUN. "We estimated between 8,000 and 8,500 people in attendance this year. Last year, we thought we had 6,000 to 6,500, so it was tremendously larger than what we have ever had."
The free community event is organized and run by the Habersham County E-9-1-1 staff and features trunk or treat, interactive exhibits, emergency vehicles, visits with emergency personnel and community organization representatives, wrestling, a hayride, children's activities and more.
