By B.J. Williams

A motorcycle driver was injured when she was hit Sunday by a pick-up truck on Georgia 365 near Jaemor Farm Market.

The Georgia State Patrol said Adrian Surowiecki, 36, of Helen was attempting to make a left turn from Georgia 365 southbound into Jaemor Farm Road when he hit the northbound motorcycle being operated by Audrey Courson, 43, of Lawrenceville.

Cpl. Joshua Hedden said after the truck hit the motorcycle, the bike overturned and came to rest in the left northbound lane of the highway. Hedden said Surowiecki stopped at the scene of the accident.

Surowiecki and the three passengers in his truck were not injured. He was charged with failure to yield while making a left turn.

Courson was wearing a helmet, according to Hedden. He did not know the extent of her injuries.

Georgia 365 northbound was closed for about an hour while troopers investigated.
