BLAIRSVILLE — Pierson Allison threw for four touchdowns and ran for another to lead Union County to a 42-7 win over Social Circle at home Friday night.
The win for the Panthers (9-0, 6-0 Region 8-2A) sets up a winner-take-all showdown with arch-rival Rabun County (8-1, 6-0) next week in Tiger for the region championship.
Allison sored a 5-yard run to get things started and then connected with Kyle Morlock on a 77-yard bomb and found Sawyer Drake for a 74-yard TD strike for a quick 21-0 lead in the first quarter.
Allison and Kanon Hemphill connected for a 35-yard TD pass midway through the second quarter and
Cayden Rich hauled in a 52-yard pass from Allison as the Panthers took a 35-0 lead into halftime.
Union County pushed it to 42-0 when Zion Ross caught a 1-yard TD pass from Logan Helcher on the final play of the third quarter. Social Circle’s only points came in the fourth quarter on a 75-yard pick-six with 5:33 left in the game.
