The City of Gainesville is celebrating the completion of a stream restoration project in the headwaters of Flat Creek.
Through a Section 206 Grant, the Army Corps of Engineers and the City were able to collaborate and award Clean Water Consultants the construction contract of the project. This effort was initiated to improve 1,762 linear feet of stream along a greatly degraded section of Flat Creek.
A ribbon-cutting is planned at 11:00 Oct. 30 at 981 Dorsey Street SW.
