Gainesville: US Forest Service law enforcement employees honored

The U.S. Forest Service recently recognized several law enforcement employees from the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests.

Patrol Captain Leonard S. "Stuart" Delugach (retired) received the national award for Outstanding Leadership, for exemplary performance and superb leadership.

Officer Michael P. Tipton was recognized by the Southern Region Law Enforcement and Investigations program with an award for Bravery, Valor or Heroic Act.   Tipton was cited for helping rescue a hiker March 21, 2016, who had become unconscious and unresponsive in the Cohutta Wilderness. The hiker survived the ordeal.

Vivian "Vickie" Satterfield was recognized by the Southern Region Law Enforcement and Investigations program with an award for Outstanding Administrative Support Services.
