*Recently, Engineering Georgia magazine released its inaugural listing of “100 Influential Women to Know” – women of character, integrity, and purpose. Emily Dunn of Fannin County, State Transportation Board member for the 9th Congressional District (which includes Gainesville), is on the list.
*The Gilmer High School fishing club duo of Thomas Chastain and Carter Ott recently won the 2018 TBF/FLW High School Fishing Georgia State Championship on West Point Lake. Two other area schools, Jackson County Comprehensive High (3rd) and North Forsyth High School (9th), finished in the Top 10. In addition, two Cumming anglers, representing the Georgia High School Student Angler Federation, finished in 7th place. Complete tournament results can be found here.
