Two University of North Georgia professors, two clergy members and the Democratic challenger for Georgia's 9th District Congressional post are set to speak at a community public safety forum in Gainesville Thursday evening.
Information from the campaign of Joshua McCall said the forum is free and open to the community. It's being held at the Gainesville Civic Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1.
The idea is to have a panel discussion on "restoring safety to our public spaces and to our homes," according to information from the McCall campaign.
In addition to McCall, four other people will be part of Thursday night's panel discussion. They include:
- Rev. Frank Colladay, Jr., Pastor Emeritus of Dahlonega Presbyterian Church
- Rev. Sam Buice, Rector of Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church in Clarkesville
- Dr. Matthew Boedy, a professor at the University of North Georgia's Gainesville campus
- Dr. Tanya Bennett, professor and Dean of Honors at the University of North Georgia's Gainesville campus.
