Academy of Innovation (formerly Ava White Academy) will be celebrating its 10th anniversary Friday afternoon from 3:00-5:30 at 1399 Thompson Bridge Road.
The drop-in event will allow past and present teachers and students of the Academy to reminisce and view memorabilia from the last ten years. Parents and members of the community are also invited.
“This anniversary is something that we’re very proud of. The Academy started with only four students and one teacher in 2007 in a small classroom. Who could have guessed that 10 years later we’d have four full-time teachers, 2 assistant teachers, and 35 students! Our Academy is the only school of it’s kind in Northeast Georgia. We truly believe that the Academy of Innovation is “where learning takes flight”. We look forward to ten more amazing years and to positively changing the lives of students,” Ava White, Academy of Innovation Director wrote in an email.
The mission of the Academy of Innovation, according to White, is to provide individualized, student-focused academic services that help maximize both the scholastic and career-related success of those students in the Northeast Georgia area who possess learning differences and challenges.
