Some strong thunderstorms are possible across Georgia today, including the Gainesville area, with a chance for some damaging winds and an "isolated brief: tornado.
The National Weather Service says the best chance for the stormy weather is between 4:00 this afternoon and midnight tonight. Heavy rain and frequent lightning may also accompany the storms.
The greatest risk is along and west of a line from Bainbridge to Albany to Gainesville to Helen.
