Oakwood Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a pair of suspects who are alleged to be using credit cards stolen from a college dorm room earlier this week.
Authorities say the case began around 2 p.m. Tuesday, when the pair allegedly burgled a student's dorm room at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland. Oakwood Police Investigator Todd Templeton says the suspects took the student's wallet, which is said to have contained "various credit cards."
"The subjects then drove over an hour away to Oakwood," Templeton said, "and used the credit cards at an auto parts store to purchase gift cards with a high-dollar-value amount."
Templeton said the suspects then went to a game store in the same area, where they proceeded to again purchase gift cards with the stolen materials.
A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers Atlanta to anyone with "information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible."
Information can be provided to the Oakwood Police Department or Crime Stoppers Atlanta - either by phone at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org, or by CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637).
