Hall students' art project chosen for Jimmy Carter National Historic Site exhibit

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains is hosting a student art exhibit through the summer of 2019 and the works of two student art groups from the Da Vinci Academy of South Hall Middle School are included.

Not only do they have their art displayed in the exhibit, but it is also on the poster that has been created to publicize the event.

One group of students - 8th graders Julia Dao, Carlie Crane, Dulce Lopez, and Hallie Martin - created the “Looking Ahead” art piece; the other - 7th graders Katrin Baker, London Christopher, Emma Grace Cooper, Lilli Hayes, and Ella Kelly - created “Piecing Together Our Future.”

The theme for this art exhibit is "We Must Adjust to Changing Times and Still Hold to Unchanging Principles."  A total of 549 students in K-12th grades helped to create the art.  They came from 49 classrooms in 15 schools.
