Gainesville event to to focus on environmental issues, protecting the environment

The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper will host an environmental expo and film festival in Gainesville next month focusing on environmental issues and protecting the environment.

It will be held at the Brenau Downtown Center May 12 at 5:30.

"Join us to witness environmental and adventure films that illustrate the Earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet and the work communities around the world are doing to protect the environment," reads a posting on the organization's Facebook page.  "Through these films, Wild & Scenic will inform you about the state of the world and inspire you to take action.'

Environmental Expo 5:30–7:00:

Local groups and organizations, including Hall County Master Gardeners, Georgia Forest Watch, and Northeast Georgia Locally Grown, will be showcasing their current projects and successes. 

Films 7:00–9:30:

A selection of environmental and adventure films illustrating the Earth’s beauty, the challenges facing the planet, and community work around the world aimed at protecting the environment.
