Hall County Commissioner Kathy Cooper is the GOP nominee for the District 1 Post on the Hall County Commission. The incumbent easily defeated challenger George Thorndyke in Tuesday's primary election by 1,716 votes - a 70.44% to 29.56% win.
Cooper has served on the commission for one term. She was first elected in 2014.
She faces Democrat Michael W. Parker of Flowery Branch in the November General Election.
