Hall County has begun the process of finding a new fire chief, someone to replace Jeff Hood, who abruptly resigned last October.
"I have spent countless hours meeting one-on-one with a number of representatives from Hall County Fire Services in order to get their input on the issues they view to be facing Hall County Fire Services as well as what qualities they are looking for in the next chief," Hall County Administrator Jock Connell said Friday. "Their feedback will be instrumental as we undertake a methodical search for the right candidate for this position."
Connell said a variety of methods will be utilized to cast a wide net for qualified applicants. Once those candidates' resumes are reviewed, finalists will undergo a thorough examination to include several layers of interviews.
"The end goal will be to hire someone who possesses the abilities, character, integrity, values, and leadership skills that will help motivate and move this organization forward in a positive and productive way," Connell said. "Not only will we expect these traits in the fire chief, but also from every member of Hall County Fire Services."
