Funeral for murdered baby set for Friday

Funeral services are planned for Friday, June 15 for six-month-old Carlton James Oakes of Hall County, the baby found dead in a motel room freezer in Dothan, Alabama. 
 
Law enforcement found the body of the infant in the freezer at the In Town Suites on Monday, June 4. An autopsy to determine the exact cause of the baby's death is still underway, according to Dothan police investigators.

The baby's mother Amanda Gail Oakes, 36, of Murrayville faces charges of manslaughter and abuse of a corpse.
 
The father, Carlton James Mathis, also faces a charges of abuse of a corpse. At last report Mathis remained hospitalized after he was shot by SWAT officers in Florida a week ago. 

The 2 p.m. services for the infant will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville.
