Hall County authorities are on the lookout for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop late Saturday morning that was conducted as part of a shooting-related investigation.
Jeffery Scott Moss, 27, of Gainesville, was pulled over by Hall County Sheriff's Deputies on Dean Street around the noon hour Saturday, and, upon stopping, fled his vehicle on foot.
The traffic stop took place as part of an investigation that began around 11:20 a.m., when Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware says the local 9-1-1 center received a call from a resident on Stallworth Street near Queen City Parkway.
"Telephone calls were received by Hall County Central Communications from callers regarding a home [that] had been struck by gunfire," Ware said. No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.
Ware said that Deputies, along with officers from the Gainesville Police Department, responded to the call, at which time they received a description of a potential suspect vehicle.
"Witnesses provided Deputies with a description of the vehicle believed to have been driven or occupied by the suspect," he explained, adding that the Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit was then called to the area to assist in spotting the vehicle. "The car was spotted and subsequently pulled over in the 34 block of Dean Street."
After Moss fled the scene on foot, authorities obtained warrants for his arrest on charges of Criminal Attempt of Aggravated Assault and Criminal Damage to Property. Ware said a handgun was also found in the vehicle that Moss left behind.
Anyone with information regarding either the case or Moss' whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.
