The work of a Lawrenceville artist is now on display at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center's Mini-Gallery in the Regions Center in Gainesvile.
Isaac Alcantar says his work is inspired by his surroundings and culture.
“Art is an adventure of discovery that takes me on a journey of exposure using color, texture, and subject. Art allows me to enjoy feelings of pleasure and emotion caused by living in a new culture.”
Alcantar has entered (and been accepted) into eighteen juried exhibitions including the Kudzu Open Exhibit and Georgia Watercolor Society member exhibition. In February, he had his first solo exhibition at the Mexican consulate in Atlanta and following that was invited to exhibit another solo show at Clila- Coalicion De Lideres Latinos in Dalton.
According to a news release from the Arts Center, this exhibition is one of many that will feature emerging north Georgia artists in the gallery at the Regions Center.
