It took less than a week after the elimination of maximum tolls on the I-85 express lanes for a new record to be set.
Three times since August 20, the toll for a full trip between Old Peachtree Road in Gwinnett County and Shallowford Road in Dekalb County hit $15.50, according to a report in the Gwinnett Daily Post.
The newspaper confirmed the rate with the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA).
The first time the trip cost $15.50 happened was last Thursday, Aug. 23 in the northbound lane. The high toll was matched Monday and again Tuesday, according to the newspaper report.
