*Tanger Outlet Center in Commerce has announced that for the second year in a row the beneficiary of the funds raised from its10th Annual Fit Run/Walk will be “Monies for Mammos: Northridge Medical Center Breast Imaging Fund,” providing mammography screenings for qualified individuals. This year's event is scheduled for October 13 starting at 8:30 a.m.
*Dawson County Emergency Services (DCES) will host its annual Patriot Day Service on September 11 at Fire Station 1 (headquarters), located at 393 Memory Lane in Dawsonville. The service will begin at 8:35 a.m. and will mark the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Washington and New York on Sept. 11, 2001.
*United Way of Hall County will hold the kickoff for this year's fall campaign Sept. 20 at 7:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Gainesville.
