A Clermont man is in the Hall County Detention Center charged with making terroristic threats against a school Wednesday.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth said Thomas Shannon Bruce, 35, was denied permission to pick up his child from Wauka Mountain Elementary. Booth said according to school officials, Bruce called his estranged wife around 11 a.m. and threatened to shoot up the school.
"As soon as she took that call, she let school officials know and they promptly went into the lockdown procedure. They also made the call to the sheriff's office," Booth said.

Booth said detectives immediately turned their attention to locating Bruce. He was arrested at his home in the 6500 block of Clermont Hwy./Ga. 283 around 12:30 p.m..
He said Bruce was never at the school and no one was injured in the incident.
No bail had been set for Bruce as of Wednesday evening.
