Two people were injured, one of them critically, in a rollover accident on Academy Street in Gainesville Friday afternoon.
"We extricated one patient that was transported...to Northeast Ga. Medical Center in critical condition," Gainesville Fire Department spokesman Keith Smith said in an email late Friday afternoon. "The second occupant of the vehicle was transported non-emergency with minor injuries. There were only two people in the vehicle."
Smith said earlier the mid-afternoon accident left a section of Academy Street behind St. Paul United Methodist Church closed for a time.
