Tigers roll over Vikings, set up 7-3A first place battle with GAC

RABBITTOWN — Dawson County forced two turnovers and held East Hall to minus-7 yards rushing and just six first downs in taking a 64-0 rout of the Vikings Friday night in a Region 7-3A battle at East Hall Stadium.

The win for the Tigers (6-0, 2-0 Region 7-3A) sets up a titanic showdown next week with Greater Atlanta Christian (4-2, 2-0) in Norcross for first place and the head-to-head tiebreaker in Region 7-3A. GAC held off North Hall 21-0 on Friday to stay unbeaten in region play.

The Tigers defense was superb, holding East Hall to 2 of 11 on third down and 0 for 3 on fourth down for the game. The Vikings also were called for 9 penalties for 90 yards for the game.

Dawson County's powerful ground game, which came in averaging over 400 yards a game was held to just 280 by the Vikings but Ahmad Kamara had 89 on just 6 carries and scored four touchdowns. SeVaughn Clark, Shawn Thomas, and Max Moon each had one rushing touchdown.

Zander Mann was 16 of 28 for 164 yards passing for East Hall.

The Vikings (1-5, 0-2) will look to bounce back next week at Fannin County.
